So...yesterday I randomly bit the bullet and upgraded to a big kid phone (Sprint HTC Evo).  In the past I've had the barebones phones with no data so this is a big jump for me.

I did a bit of research, so its not like i went and bought one half-cocked.  I know about the supposed horrible battery life.  But with the plan price and my work discount (25% off) I had to give the phone and network a try.

I've got 30 days to make my decision...and see how well the network works for me in the area.
Anyone got any pros/cons I should look for? .........................
meh.

The one thing that I noticed that really made the smart phone worth the extra money for a phone and plan to me is that I use mine (iPhone) to do things I used to use my laptop for at home.

If it becomes easier to wipe out your phone to check the news/email/order burritos/look up info like directions/phone #s/resturant menus/etc then your golden.

I noticed that my phone began to replace things in my life like scratch paper for reminders, but the biggest thing was that I didn't use my laptop for really anything except things that required high end processing anymore and at that point I felt better about the added cost.

i think me and Roo were mainly worried we wouldn't use them alot, if you don't naturally gravitate towards using it alot for things you do regularly I'd try a different one. .........................
Roo: "He doesn't like that."
Me: "Well he was smiling.....until he started screaming."

Go anywhere you can and make calls. Plan a road trip/mini vacation if possible, Make sure the phone will work when you want it to. And keep a note of how much you use it and how often you have to charge it. If the reception is good, the battery life meets your needs and you aren't missing anything huge on the phone, then you've made the right choice for you.

I'd be interested to know what you think of the phone, especially being new to Android. It looked pretty awesome, despite the size and battery life. .........................
